Human Resources
HR resources are available through the myGGU portal. Please login and navigate to the GGU4YOU icon on the portal homepage, then choose the Human Resources category. There you will find Benefits, Contact, Handbooks & Policies, Payroll & Timecard, and other information.
Your program chair/director is your first point of contact for general questions relating to human resources. If you have specific questions about stipends, oversize classes payments, or timesheets, please email HR@ggu.edu or explore our list of HR contacts.

Instructors should not provide information directly to students about what courses or attendance qualifies under VA rules, as these rules are in flux and vary depending on the student’s individual situation. News & Digital Subscriptions
All current GGU students, faculty, and staff are eligible for free digital subscriptions to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. See below for more details and instructions on how to sign up for digital access.
Sign Up for Free Digital Access to the New York Times
First, cancel any NYT subscriptions associated with your GGU email, then follow steps below.
Sign up for your full New York Times subscription via these steps:
- Step 1: Navigate to www.accessnyt.com
- Step 2: Search for and select “Golden Gate University – San Francisco, CA”
You will be redirected to the NYT registration page. - Step 3: Click “Create Account” and complete fields; you must use your GGU email address.
- Step 4: Verify your account (you will receive a confirmation email) *
* The confirmation email may be routed to your spam folder. You must click the link in this email to complete the registration.
Once registered, faculty/staff will have 4 years of full account access, after which they must re-authenticate by visiting accessnyt.com. Students will have access until 12/31 of their graduation year.

NYT Tools for Instructors
- NYT Learning Tools Guidebook (PDF) — Overview of NYT inEducation and The Learning Network options for teaching and learning. Explore the links below after registering for your NYT account and reviewing this document.
- NYT inEducation Website — This section of the NYT subscription has been designed as a resource to connect Times journalism with key areas of study for students and faculty through the NYT Education Subscription Program.
- NYT – The Learning Network — Teach and learn with The Times: Resources for bringing the world into your classroom.
Alternative Access to NYT
Access NYT via Library Databases:
- US Major Dailies (via Proquest) — Full-text of print articles from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Washington Post.
Access NYT via San Francisco Public Library:
- San Francisco Public Library — Access the NY Times online for 72 hours by signing up through SFPL. You can renew after 72 hours as many times as you want going through the process outlined. You can use your login to read on the NY Times app on your phone.
Sign Up for Free Digital Access to the Wall Street Journal
To access your Wall Street Journal membership:
- Go to the WSJ registration page: https://www.wsj.com/GGU
- Enter your account type from the drop-down menu: Student, Staff, or Professor
- Type your first and last name and your GGU email
- If you are a student, enter your graduation date
- Create a password
- Check the box: “I agree to the Privacy Policy, Subscriber Agreement, Cookie Policy”
- Click CREATE
After registration, login to the Wall Street Journal at https://www.wsj.com/ to verify your email address (it may take up to 20 minutes to receive the verification email).
Once you verify your email address, you are able to read the WSJ.com website or use the mobile app.
Faculty and staff need to validate memberships once a year. Student accounts remain active until graduation.

Alternative Access to WSJ
The library’s US Major Dailies includes content from The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Chicago Tribune, among others.
US Major Dailies is full-text only, meaning that there are no pictures or infographics. Includes WSJ content from Jan 2, 1984 to the present.
