Hello everyone! My name is Dr. Frank Menchavez (he/him), and I am excited to join you in this course. My education background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Dominican University of California, a master’s degree, and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. My professional experience includes working with a variety of populations in which treatment was focused on short term care including crisis management, early substance use recovery, and acute hospital care. My treatment approach is mostly informed with Cognitive Behavioral applications with influences from Narrative, Solution Focused, and Trauma Focused treatments. I most enjoy working with clients with complicated presentations that challenge my skills as a clinician. Currently, I’m working as an Addiction Medicine Specialist at Kaiser Permanente where I have been for the past 5 years. In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids, watching sporting events (especially Warriors, 49ers, Giants, and Sharks), and playing video games.
