Important Information for November Campus Week

In preparation for the November Campus Week, scheduled for November 13-18, we want to make you aware of a major event taking place in the city during the same timeframe. This is the APECSF 23 Conference which will be held at the Moscone Center and several other local venues. This event, like other events held earlier this year, is welcomed as San Francisco regains its prominence in the business and innovation communities.

Read all about APECSF 23

GGU will remain open during this event and all academic programs, including live in-person class meetings, Campus Week activities, and our daily operations will continue as usual.

Download the APEC City Information Flyer for More Information

Aside from the large number of attendees who are expected, several high-ranking government officials are expected to attend. As a result, a restricted security zone (Red Zone) will encircle the Moscone venue (see the area map … the blue X denotes our facility). While our campus is not located in the “Red Zone” we are close to the affected areas. This coupled with the large number of attendees and street closures will make travel problematic.

If you plan to be on campus at any time during that week, you may experience delays as you commute to-and-from. So please plan your travel and activities accordingly. We’re in contact with SFPD, and the other applicable agencies, and will provide updates as needed should the situation warrant.

This link provides useful information regarding traveling in-and-around the areas during while the Conference takes place. San Francisco streets and transit will be impacted by APEC | Transit | sfexaminer.com

Once again, all of our classes, Campus Week activities, and business operations will continue as usual during this time period.

As always, we will be carefully monitoring the situation and if circumstances change, we will notify the community.
