The Accounting Program
Contemporary business trends demand that accountants bring more than accounting expertise to the organizations they serve. In today's technologically-based, competitive market you will need a broader-based education, including the ability to communicate effectively, work in teams and problem solve creatively.
At Golden Gate University, our state-of-the-art accounting program provides you with exactly the curriculum you need for success in the field. You will receive high-quality, in-depth instruction in accounting theories and practices concurrent with the broader-based education so essential today. With small classes, experienced practitioner educators and a curriculum that prepares you for the global marketplace of the future, your education will be current, practicable and thorough. You will find the transition from school to marketplace natural and easy because you will already know and have practiced the skills, theories and technology you will use on the job.
Professional Faculty
Our classes are taught by experienced and dedicated professionals who know the latest trends in the field. They will explain how the international business environment affects your job as an accountant and teach you how to prepare for the new marketplace. They will instruct you in theory, then help you apply it to current accounting practices and the real-life accounting problems they bring to the classroom. You will gain in-depth comprehension of your chosen area and a firm foundation in the latest technology used in your field. You will develop the expertise and technological tools you will need to succeed whether your goal is to be a tax professional, auditor or consultant, and whether you aim to work in private industry, the public sector or not-for-profit organizations.
The Undergraduate Accounting Program
At the undergraduate level, we offer the
bachelor of science in accounting. This degree prepares you for a career in public accounting, private industry, government or not-for-profit accounting in the areas of financial and managerial accounting, internal audit and taxation. The BS in accounting allows you to meet the requirements to take the CPA and CMA examinations. We also offer certificates at the
undergraduate level.
The Graduate Accounting Program
We offer two degree opportunities at the master's level. The
master of accountancy is for those who have little or no prior accounting background and want to meet the requirements of the CPA and CMA examinations, and for those who wish to improve or broaden their current technical expertise. Or you may choose a broader-based program with the
master of business administration with a concentration in accounting.
The master of accountancy program allows you to integrate courses in other fields to supplement accounting course work for a more inclusive education. This program prepares students for the professions of public accounting and consulting and for careers as accountants and managers in both profit and not-for-profit organizations.
The MBA with a concentration in accounting provides a broad-based program of study designed for students who plan to work in positions in business and not-for-profit organizations where strong integration of accounting and management skills are required. We also offer certificates at the
graduate level.
