Dr. Robert Patterson is the Leader of the Worldwide Tax & Customs Controllership Center of Excellence at Microsoft Corporation where he oversees a global team. Previously, Robert worked on initiatives related to global and domestic tax compliance and policies with the Big Four accounting firms (PwC and EY), multinational companies Walmart and American Express, and the state of Kansas where he helped draft tax legislation. Robert earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Pacific Lutheran University and over the course of his career he earned a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University, an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Morehead State University, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, a Graduate Certificate in State & Local Taxation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a law degree from Washburn University’s School of Law and a Doctorate in Education with a focus in Organizational Behavior for strategy development from the University of New England.
