Brent White
President
Brent White began his tenure as the 8th President of Golden Gate University on November 1, 2025, bringing a distinguished record of higher education leadership, global academic innovation, and legal scholarship.
Most recently, he served as Chief Global Officer at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where he directed all aspects of global engagement and held a professorship at the William S. Richardson School of Law.
Prior to that, President White was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Golden Gate University, where he led the development of new academic programs and established international partnerships that expanded the university’s global reach.
Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at the University of Arizona, including Vice President for Global Affairs and Dean of Global Education. In that role, he led the creation of 13 micro-campuses across nine countries, transforming the University of Arizona into one of the world’s most globally connected universities.
President White holds an A.B., magna cum laude, in Public Policy from Duke University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from New York University School of Law.
A noted scholar in law and development and property law, his research and commentary have been featured in national and international media, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, and 60 Minutes.
At Golden Gate University, President White is building on the institution’s long tradition of empowering working adults and nontraditional learners in the heart of San Francisco. With his deep experience in global engagement, student-centered innovation, and mission-driven leadership, he is guiding GGU into its next chapter of impact and growth.
