Explore Ways to Fund Your GGU Education

Investing in your education is one of the best investments you can make in yourself — and at Golden Gate University, it’s more accessible than you might think.

We provide flexible options to help you pay for college, designed specifically for working adults, veterans, and transfer students who need an education that fits their lives.

Financial Aid, Scholarships & Loans

Federal, state, and institutional aid — including GGU scholarships and grants — are available to qualified students. Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for consideration.

Through FAFSA, you may also qualify for federal student loans, which offer flexible repayment options and competitive interest rates. Loans can be combined with scholarships, grants, and employer assistance to create a personalized plan that works for you.

Thanks to recent FAFSA simplifications, the application is faster and easier than ever. Many students complete it in under 45 minutes, and it unlocks access to all forms of aid — from scholarships and grants to loans.

Who is eligible to submit FAFSA?

Most U.S. citizens and eligible noncitizens (including permanent residents) can complete the FAFSA to be considered for federal and state financial aid, as well as GGU scholarships and grants. Even if you think you may not qualify for need-based aid, submitting the FAFSA is required for all types of financial aid consideration.

Veterans Benefits

GGU proudly supports veterans and active-duty service members. We accept a range of VA education benefits, including:

  • Post-9/11 GI Bill®
  • Montgomery GI Bill®
  • Yellow Ribbon Program
  • Benefits for eligible spouses and dependents

Our commitment to military learners goes beyond benefits. We understand the unique needs of service members and their families and provide personalized support throughout your journey.

Students are advised to verify that their GGU program of interest is accredited (officially approved) for VA education benefits before enrolling. GGU enrollment counselors can help you find eligible programs.

GGU does their best to help students who need financial support. At GGU, I was offered a scholarship and received financial aid, which gave me the opportunity to complete my bachelor’s and earn my master’s degree.

Employer Tuition Assistance

Many employers invest in their workforce by offering tuition reimbursement or assistance. GGU partners with students and employers to make the most of these opportunities, helping you advance your career while reducing your out-of-pocket costs.

Installment Payment Plans

For those paying directly, GGU offers an interest-free monthly installment plan that spreads tuition across the term. Early enrollment means more payment options and smaller monthly installments, making your degree easier to budget.

Transfer Credit & Credit for Prior Learning

Many GGU students lower the cost of their education by transferring in credits from previous institutions or by applying for credit based on work experience, professional certifications, or military service. These pathways can significantly reduce the number of courses you need to complete, saving both time and money.

Cost Transparency

We recognize that tuition is only part of the total cost of attendance. At GGU, we’ll help you understand the full picture and connect you with resources to manage costs responsibly. For more information on financing your GGU education, please visit the GGU Catalog.
