Jeff Karlin is a Professor in the Bruce F. Braden School of Taxation at Golden Gate University. He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-1 rated transactional business lawyer. Professor Karlin’s practice has primarily focused on negotiating, drafting and structuring complex business transactions. He has significant experience in matters concerning federal income taxation, securities’ laws, corporate and partnership laws, and mergers and acquisitions. Professor Karlin is a member of the California Bar and he is a licensed California CPA (inactive), having gained his early experience as a tax accountant at the San Francisco offices of Price Waterhouse. He actively practiced law as a partner in a number of law firms and as an executive corporate officer.
Professor Karlin is co-author of “Tax Exempt investments in US Realty.” He is a Stanley Davis Endowed Professor and in 1986, received the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award from the School of Taxation. Professor Karlin received a JD from University of California, Hastings College of the Law and an LLM in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law.
