Applied Intermediate Algebra

Continues MATH 10. Focuses on developing competency in quantitative reasoning, problem solving and understanding algebra with its applications. Examines the algebra concepts of equations (linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational and algebraic) and inequalities (linear and quadratic), linear and nonlinear systems, functions, and graphs. An aim of this course is to help students explore the application of algebra in business and in reasoning about life issues and problems. This course also introduces students to online self-pace learning systems for algebra. Prerequisite(s): Grade of “C-” or better in MATH 10 (or its equivalent) or satisfactory results on the Mathematics Placement Test.
