Procedure will introduce students to the fundamental aspects of U.S. civil procedure as well as the most important differences between civil procedure on the one hand and criminal and administrative procedure on the other. Students will acquire particular familiarity with the steps required to initiate and pursue a civil lawsuit through trial and appeal, including such matters as pleading, investigation and discovery, the role of the court and jury, motions, evidence and trial, and appeals.
