Dr. Magid brings a strong blend of business and academic experience. He worked at Bank of America from 1977 to 1998 (based in Venezuela, Brazil, Miami, and San Francisco), leading international economic and policy research, serving in the Office of the Chairman and in business development and finance positions. Dr. Magid co-designed and taught a Latin America-Strategic Client Marketing Workshop for senior executives in the Latin America Division. This experience sparked his interest in the lifelong learning needs of working professionals.

In 2000, Dr. Magid entered the higher education sector, assuming the position of founding Executive Director MSU Global, the Michigan State University online education department. In partnership with the Dean of the Graduate School and Office of Technology, over twenty degree and certificate programs were launched. Dr. Magid served as Dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University and later as Dean of Brandeis University International Business School, Executive Director of the Perlmutter Institute for Global Business Leadership and Martin and Ahuva Gross Chair of Financial Markets and Institutions.

Dr. Magid returned to California in 2016, serving as EVP University Partnerships for an international education partnering organization. He remains active in the community, serving on the Advisory Board of a private university in Spain and as senior advisor to a sports social media company that educates and engages student athletes.

Dr. Magid academic credentials include a Master of Arts in in International Relations, a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, Business Law, and Comparative Politics from Tufts University and Harvard University.
