Campus Safety & Security
Golden Gate University has a number of measures in place to assure the safety of faculty, staff, students and guests in the event of an emergency. Department personnel enforce university regulations and coordinate contact with other law enforcement agencies to maintain the quality of safety on campus.
2025 CPN Seal of Prevention™
GGU is honored to honored to receive the 2025 Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention™. The CPN Seal of Prevention, presented by Vector Solutions, recognizes institutions of higher education that demonstrate leadership in student safety and well-being.
Each recipient of the CPN Seal of Prevention has taken action to create a safer campus through comprehensive, evidence-based digital prevention education on issues such as sexual assault, alcohol and drug misuse, and mental health. The CPN Seal establishes guidelines for discerning quality prevention education and implementation practices, and positions prevention as central to key institutional outcomes such as student success, campus climate, and retention.

Security Personnel
A security officer can always be reached by dialing “0” on a San Francisco campus phone. A 24-hour escort service to nearby transit is available to anyone who feels unsafe leaving campus. Safety and security personnel encourage everyone on campus to call if assistance is needed, no matter what the circumstance.
Emergency Response and Evacuation Plan (E-REP)
The university maintains a detailed plan for how to respond to a variety of situations (i.e., fire, earthquake, power outage, etc.). While on campus, all members of the university community are required to comply with alarm notifications, evacuation or recovery orders and to take the appropriate actions as applicable. Copies of the E-REP are available throughout the campus facilities.
Quick Reaction Procedures (QRP)
A greatly condensed version of the E-REP, these are displayed in all classrooms and other spaces throughout the facility. We ask everyone to become familiar with the QRPs so that you will have a better idea of what to do during various emergency situations.

Sexual Assault or Sexual Harassment (Title IX)

Business, Tax, and Accounting School Students:

Anonymous Reporting
Golden Gate University (GGU) is committed to conducting its affairs ethically and in accordance with university policy and all applicable state and federal laws. To support this commitment, GGU has chosen EthicsPoint to provide the GGU community with a simple, anonymous method to confidentially make a suggestion; ask a question; describe a concern or report suspected violation of the GGU policies.
While the University supports the right of GGU community members to report incidents anonymously, in some instances the University’s efforts to investigate, act effectively, or pursue disciplinary action may be hindered by the inability to contact the affected individuals, witnesses, and others involved. Please consider reporting incidents directly through the mechanisms described above. Though complete confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, the University will make every effort to protect privacy and preserve confidentiality.

Timely Warnings
Depending on the particular circumstances of the crime, especially in all situations that could pose an immediate threat to the community and individuals, the Business Services and Facilities Department will issue a campus-wide “timely warning.” The warning will be issued through the university alert system to students, faculty and staff.
GGU-Alert
Golden Gate University (GGU) provides a fast, multi-modal and seamless notification process to members of the university community in the event of a disaster, emergency, or significant event that affects the campus-wide community.
This system allows GGU to broadcast these messages (called GGU Alert messages) simultaneously to all registered users (students, faculty, staff and other authorized individuals) via a wide-variety of notification methods. These include: individual cell phones (using SMS text messaging); office or home phones; PDA devices; and other connected alarm or notification systems. Users can also include multiple contact information (phone numbers and email address) when subscribing to the system.
GGU-Alert will only be used to send urgent notification and recovery messages that are critical to ones safety, security or well-being; or to relay other vital information in a timely manner. Some examples of messages that would be sent are: bomb-threats, evacuation orders, system outages, natural disasters, public health alerts, terrorist activity, security advisories, shelter-in-place orders, notification of suspicious activity, and other similar notifications to include periodic test messages. It will not be used for routine communications, marketing or promotional activities, or for any commercial purposes.
This service is voluntary, and there is no cost to you to participate; however, depending on your wireless service agreement, a nominal fee may be incurred for receiving text messages. And all contact information that is provided is not shared with or sold to third parties.
Golden Gate University is committed to campus safety and security. In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure Act of Campus Security and the Campus Crimes Statistics Act, we publish an annual report to keep the community properly informed about current crime statistics and other useful information.
