In May, GGU launched the Alumni Network, an innovative and exclusive platform that connects graduates to fellow alumni, provides information about special events, and serves as a central hub for discovering benefits and opportunities available to alumni.
The Network, first and foremost, enables alumni to connect with one another through the Alumni Directory. Graduates can search for peers by name or location, find fellow alumni using a robust interactive map, and message them directly or view their profile.
“We’re so proud and delighted to launch the Alumni Network,” said Nicole Blount, Senior Director of Advancement at GGU. “We’re excited to grow this network into a vibrant community of alumni supporting one another’s achievements and inspiring the next generation of GGU students.”
A job board—only available to members of the network—highlights employment opportunities provided by alumni seeking to fill positions with GGU graduates. Plus, alumni business owners can promote their organization in GGU’s Discount Center, which offers discounts to alumni, and on other GGU platforms. Approved alumni business owners will receive a badge they can share on their website and social channels to showcase their GGU pride.
“The new GGU Alumni Network is on brand and easy to use,” commented Alex Wheeler, MS Financial Planning ‘22. “It was well worth the wait, and I can already feel my connection to the people who make GGU such a pivotal place grow. I look forward to engaging with more folks.”
GGU’s Oral History Project collected 1,099 alumni stories that are featured in the network and a printed directory, garnering an excellence award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Members of the Alumni Network can now share their own story on the GGU website and social channels and in our Alumni Newsletters. Graduates who know other alumni with a great success story can nominate their fellow alumni to be featured in an Alumni Spotlight—where we highlight the most outstanding stories of alumni succeeding in their lives and careers.
“Completing my MS in Business Analytics was a challenging and rewarding journey,” reflected alum Swapnil Bhujang. “I’m thrilled to have joined the Alumni Network. I’m excited to connect with fellow alumni, share experiences, and continue growing together.”
Alumni who want to give back to GGU can learn about tax-saving opportunities to support GGU ranging from matching gifts to planned giving to efforts like our End of Fiscal Year campaign which invites 123 supporters to give to GGU in honor of the University’s upcoming 123rd anniversary.
All alumni are warmly invited to join. Those who graduated after fall 2019 can use their MyGGU credentials to access the network. Alumni who graduated before fall 2019 will need to request access to join. We hope to see you there!
