MSAI 301

Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem

3 Unit(s)

This course explores the broader technology and organizational ecosystem that enables, supports, and enhances artificial intelligence, with particular emphasis on the interconnection among AI and adjacent technologies such as Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, cloud and edge computing, and cybersecurity. The course examines how these components work together to enable intelligent systems, automate processes, generate insights, and transform organizations across industries.

The central premise of the course is that every AI initiative ultimately depends on the availability, quality, accessibility, and appropriateness of its data and institutional knowledge. Students therefore develop practical data and knowledge literacy needed to assess whether an organization has the information resources required to support an AI solution. They learn to locate, collect, clean, structure, organize, and evaluate both structured datasets and unstructured organizational content using spreadsheets, foundational SQL, AI-assisted analysis tools, and document-preparation techniques.
