DAI 835
Emerging Digital Technologies
4 Unit(s)
This course develops the capacity to evaluate emerging digital technologies and their interactions with AI under conditions of rapid change and incomplete evidence. Students examine technological mechanisms, capability limits, maturity, infrastructure dependencies, and organizational relevance. They investigate how disruptive technologies could enable new business models, improve customer experiences, and create sustainable competitive advantage. Students compare candidate technologies and execute a bounded proof of concept or experiment to test a material application claim. Findings inform an adoption recommendation addressing organizational value, risks, uncertainty, and the conditions for scaling and reassessment. The course culminates in a technology comparison, documented validation exercise, and defended innovation and adoption recommendation. Technologies and cases are refreshed for each offering while evidence-evaluation methods remain consistent.
