Steps to Apply
Step One: Create an Account
If you would like to apply for any of Golden Gate University’s undergraduate or graduate programs, the first thing you’ll need to do is create an admissions account.

The process is quick and you will only need to do this step the first time you visit. This is how Golden Gate University will send you communications about your application and update you on your status.
Step Two: Choose Your Application Portal
For Fall 2024 Academic Term Only
Please select the corresponding level of the program or certificate you’d like to enroll in:
- Undergraduate Degrees (All Bachelor’s Programs as well as the General Studies, AA)
- Graduate Degrees (Master’s, Doctorate, and Law Programs)
- Graduate Certificates (Professional Certificates)
- Open Enrollment (Individual Courses)
For Spring 2025 and Beyond

Step Three: Start Your Application
This is a good time to make sure you have collected all the documents required to complete your application.
To get started you’ll need:
- A Resume or CV
- Unofficial transcripts from all previously attended institutions (official transcripts will be required after admission)
- Statement of Purpose
Some of our degree programs may have additional application requirements. We encourage you to get in touch with an Enrollment Advisor. They are happy to help you though the application process and answer any questions you have along the way.
Step Four: Submit Your Application
Once your application is complete and you’ve filled out the required fields we recommend reviewing your application for accuracy. If you have a printer, print out a copy for your records.
Depending on the program of interest you may be asked to pay an application fee.
Congratulations, you are now ready to submit your application!

Note: Golden Gate University is not authorized to offer online courses to students residing in Alabama, Arkansas, D.C., Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, Rhode Island, or Wisconsin.
Note About Final Application Deadline: Students who apply late will forfeit the full (14) calendar day acceptance policy and will be required to accept their offer no later than the last official Deposit Deadline as set on the Academic Calendar, which may be less than (14) calendar days. Students should refer to their official Admissions letter for their exact acceptance deadline. If a student does not accept their offer of admission, or they do not register by Day 1 of class, they may choose to reapply for a future term. Deferrals are not automatic and are typically not permitted; however, a student may apply for a deferral exception.
Note to Undergraduate Applicants: To be considered for admission to undergraduate programs, you should have attained a community college, college, or university cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better with 12 or more semester units of prior transferable credit. To learn about exceptions to these requirements, please phone us 415-442-7800 and ask to speak to an enrollment counselor.
Note to Veterans: All programs at GGU are currently at or nearing enrollment capacity for students who intend to use military benefits. We encourage you to inquire at more than one college or university to maximize your opportunities to enroll in the program that suits you. GGU may not certify any veteran’s enrollment unless they have been admitted to a degree or certificate program. Open enrollment status is not considered formally admitted to Golden Gate University.
