The Ideal Candidate

External Leadership

The Dean is, first and foremost, the schools’ ambassador to the profession. Roughly ninety percent of the role is external, and the successful candidate will bring a proven track record in business development and relationship building, along with the energy to represent the schools with firm leadership, professional associations, and alumni.

Professional Credentials

GGU seeks a leader with an advanced degree in the field and relevant work experience. A CPA license or experience in an accounting firm is preferred, as is experience teaching online or via videoconference.

Firm and Community Engagement

The Dean will establish and lead an advisory committee of partners from Big 4 and regional firms. Sustained engagement with the professional community produces partnerships that generate staff enrollment and demand for programs tailored to individual firms.

Faculty and Student Commitment

GGU’s students are working professionals, and the Dean will be committed to their success. The Dean will ensure full-time faculty have appropriate workload agreements and course schedules serve students well, and will keep the adjunct faculty who anchor the schools’ practitioner model connected to the schools.
