Academic technology leader joins Golden Gate University after leadership roles in ed tech and academia

SAN FRANCISCO — Golden Gate University (GGU) today announced the appointment of Carol Langlois, Ed.D., as Vice Provost for Academic Operations.

Dr. Langlois will oversee the full range of student support services, from admission through career placement, ensuring a coordinated and seamless student experience. Her portfolio includes admissions and enrollment operations, academic advising, student affairs and student services, the Registrar and academic records, and day-to-day academic operations across GGU’s schools and academic units.

“GGU’s top priority is an excellent student experience,” said Brent White, president of Golden Gate University. “For more than two decades, Carol has built and led teams that deliver outstanding student service through periods of growth and change. As a member of GGU’s academic leadership, she will make sure our students get personalized support when they need it.”

Dr. Langlois most recently served as chief academic officer of ESAI, an AI-driven college admissions platform that has served more than 500,000 students. She brings more than 20 years of experience leading enrollment, academic programs, and student services in higher education and education technology.

She also served as associate provost and dean of the graduate division at Mills College, where she led nine graduate programs and a campus-wide reorganization that brought undergraduate and graduate admissions, marketing, budget, and IT into a shared model. Graduate students grew from 27 to 40 percent of the student body during her time there, and the college met its 2012 graduate enrollment goal nearly three years early. As a consultant to Arizona State University, she strategically helped design, staff, and launch the hybrid ASU Local model in Los Angeles, which ASU later replicated in two other states. She directed the MBA and Executive MBA programs at the University of San Francisco.

“Supporting students throughout their academic journey is core to our mission,” said Dr. Langlois. “I am delighted to take on this role at GGU and look forward to working with colleagues across the university to help our students succeed.”

Dr. Langlois holds an Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco.
