Professor Farima Fakoor has served as Accounting Manager/Director for few Silicon Valley corporations and is currently a member of California Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs and Financial Women’s Association. For most of her career in private accounting, she was a manager overseeing Finance and Accounting operations in large to mid-size companies. In 2000, she left private accounting and joined Golden gate University to serve in two different roles: faculty and the Director of Corporate and College Relations. In 2008, she joined the full time faculty as an Assistant Professor in the School of Accounting and remains on the Advisory Board for Golden Gate University Plus Program. Also, she serves on the Accounting Advisory Board for a couple of community colleges in Silicon Valley. Professor Fakoor has also been a professor at DeVry University, University of Phoenix, Foothill/De Anza Community College and Mission College. She has 19 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering educational programs and courses, conducting research, managing and consulting in the fields of managerial and financial accounting, helping set up computerized accounting systems in start up settings and writing accounting policies for high tech companies. Farima holds a B.S. in Accounting from San Francisco State University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Golden Gate University. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration at Golden Gate University with a research interest in International Financial Reporting Standards.
